Profile

Dr. Dan Zanotti has been in practice at The Center for Orthopedics since 2003. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon in Lorain County, OH specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopy. In fact, he is one of only a few board certified orthopedic surgeons in the area who has earned subspecialty certification in orthopedic sports medicine from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles. During that time he served as team physician for the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, Sparks, Galaxy and Kings, as well as the Anaheim Angels and Mighty Ducks.

Although Dr. Zanotti has treated professional athletes, he doesn’t limit his definition of “athlete” to professional or even high school or college players. “I consider anyone an athlete – from five to 85 years old – who enjoys participating in physical activities and wants to continue doing them. These are the patients I enjoy taking care of most,” he explains.

Dr. Zanotti believes in a patient-centered treatment program. He spends time insuring that each patient understands their options and are educated about their problem and treatment plan. He feels that patients should have an active voice in their recovery. By providing a compassionate and educational environment, patients can choose the treatment option that best suits them. Engaged and active patient participation is a key to his plan for each patients success.

Besides offering the most advanced surgical techniques, Dr. Dan Zanotti has continued his research and training in Cell Therapy for joint, tendon and inflammatory issues. This innovative treatment uses your body’s cells to repair its own tissues. Through Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections, Stem Cells and Advanced PRP an individual’s own intact, living cellular materials are reintroduced into the body to help heal and treat issues arising from inflammation or arthritis.

Dr. Zanotti is a consulting Orthopedic Surgeon to the Cleveland Gladiators Arena Football Team, Lake Erie Crushers Baseball team, Clearview High School Athletics Program, University Hospitals Sports Medicine Institute, and numerous other athletic programs in the area. He also helped to create the Center for Orthopedics Sports Physical Day, providing free sports physicals to over 800 students last year alone. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM).
